Now I become myself. It's taken time, many years and places...

hello again

Hello! I stepped away for the computer for a few days while my lovely cousin Michelle came to visit. She was kind enough to help me begin my quilt (I am still in quilt block cutting mode) and I taught her to knit. Pictures to come of both our projects. The above photo was taken at a favorite neighborhood cafe where they have the most wonderful lemongrass chamomile tea. There is also an equally wonderful non-dairy rose saffron ice cream with pistachios, which apparently disappeared before I remembered to get the camera out...

I hope your summer days have been filled with sweetness and laughter.

They have, though it does not feel like summer just yet. (Of course, that does not stop me from eating gelato. :)

I love that tea pot. I bought the most beautiful green tea pot (it looked similar but had butterflies and was less squat) in Chinatown but I decided to give it to my mother because she actually drank tea and I just like to have a pretty tea pot on my stove for color to boil the occasional water in. I still think about it though.

I examined this picture in detail before I ever read the post. The purple of the wall as well as in the tables mixed with the reds and browns of the wood and the green pottery with that red tea pot anchoring it all together~very pleasing to my eyes and to my heart. This looks like a wonderfully relaxing place to linger over a pot of tea and I am quite envious of the sound of that ice cream. Now I am imagining your quilt in these colors too. :)

That tea setting looks divine. I love the teapot.
It sounds like your cousin's visit was fruitful in many ways. I love having craft time with friends. I feel that we bond on such a deep level.
